Students arriving for the first time in Barbados are greeted by members of the Student Government Association (SGA) and a coordinator from the Office of Student Services. A warm welcome and transport from the airport are arranged for your smooth transition to campus life.

Student housing is pre-arranged prior to arrival. The Student Services Office coordinates housing options based on individual student preferences to ensure a comfortable and safe living environment.

Upon arrival, students are taken to a local grocery store to shop for essential items and settle into their new homes with ease.

? University Shuttle Services

All students are offered daily university transportation at a nominal fee of $160 per semester, covering pick-up and drop-off between residence and campus.

Every semester begins with a mandatory orientation session. Students meet University Deans, Faculty, Administrators, Banking Officers, and Public Safety Officials. Family members are welcome to attend.

? Communication Services

Students are guided to local mobile service providers to select a suitable phone plan. SIM cards are also available for purchase at the Student Services Office for immediate communication with families.

Officers from local Police and Fire Departments attend Orientation to provide crucial safety information and emergency response guidelines.

Students receive support in opening a local bank account, with necessary documentation provided and explained during orientation.

A milestone ceremony held as students enter MS2, where they recite the Hippocratic Oath and are welcomed into the medical profession.

Hosted by the Office of Graduate & Alumni Affairs, this seminar provides guidance from successful alumni who have matched into residency programs.

The Office of Clinical Affairs organizes “What to Expect in Clinical Science” seminars for MS4–5 students, offering insight into the transition to clinical rotations.

Covers the “Step-by-Step Process of the NRMP Residency Match” and emphasizes planning, documentation, and clinical rotation importance.
