Program Specializations
The Bachelor of Special Education (B.Sp.Ed.) offers three core specialization tracks. Students develop deep expertise in their chosen stream alongside a shared foundation in special education principles:
Visually Impaired (VI)
Specializes in teaching methodologies, Braille literacy, orientation & mobility (O&M), low vision technology, and functional vision assessment for students who are blind or have low vision.
Hearing Impaired (HI)

Admission & Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for the Bachelor of Special Education (B.Sp.Ed.) program at International University of Barbados must fulfill the following academic requirements:
Higher Secondary (10+2) Qualification
Successful completion of 12th Grade / Senior Secondary / High School Diploma in any stream — Arts, Science, or Commerce. Psychology, Sociology, or Biology background is an advantage.
Minimum Academic Percentage
Minimum aggregate of 50% marks in the qualifying examination (45% for reserved category applicants) from a recognized board or institution.
