The B.Sc Physician Assistant Technology at International University of Barbados is a premier 4-year undergraduate clinical healthcare degree (consisting of 6 academic semesters followed by a 1-year clinical hospital internship) designed to educate highly skilled Physician Assistants (PAs) who work directly alongside attending physicians and surgeons across hospital departments.

Physician Assistants practice medicine under physician supervision, conducting physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, interpreting lab results, assisting in surgical operations, managing inpatient hospital wards, and prescribing therapeutic regimens. Our program delivers a strong foundation in clinical anatomy, pharmacology, internal medicine, surgery, and emergency medicine.

Students receive comprehensive practical training in outpatient clinics (OPD), surgical operation theaters, intensive care units (ICU), and specialty medical wards in top affiliated tertiary hospitals.

Admission & Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the B.Sc Physician Assistant Technology program at International University of Barbados must fulfill the following criteria:

Higher Secondary (10+2) Qualification

Successful completion of 12th Grade / Senior Secondary School / High School Diploma with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as core subjects.

Minimum Academic Percentage

Minimum aggregate of 50% marks in PCB subjects (45% for reserved category applicants) from a recognized educational board.

English Proficiency

Proficiency in spoken and written English. Non-English medium candidates may submit IELTS (min 6.0), TOEFL, or equivalent English certification.
